Online Tutoring

The Office of Academic Services offers free, one-on-one, live online tutoring in undergraduate mathematics and writing. Online tutoring is designed for students unable to reach a location where in-person tutoring is available (main campus or NSU’s Student Educational Centers in Jacksonville, Miami, Orlando, and Tampa). Online tutoring follows the same overall guidelines as in-person tutoring (see General Information and Policies). All online tutoring is conducted by main campus tutors.

To use online tutoring, you should be able to download the Wimba live platform. You will be given instructions on how to do this when you make your first appointment. The visual connection for the tutoring session is established through a shared computer screen, allowing the student and the tutor to interact simultaneously. The audio connection can be established through a phone or a headset.

Scheduling an Appointment

All online tutoring is scheduled through the Office of Academic Services on main campus. To arrange a session, please contact us during our regular Monday through Saturday office hours, at (954) 262-8350 or 800-338-4723, ext. 28350. Remember, if you live near main campus or one of the NSU educational centers, please schedule an in-person tutoring session instead.
