Congratulations on your acceptance to NSU’s Entry-Level Nursing Program!

This page will walk you through the steps you need to take to confirm your enrollment and become an official member of our nursing community.

These steps are specific to undergraduate nursing students. If you’re looking for general admitted student information, visit our Admitted Students page.

Step 1: Confirm Your Seat

Fourteen days after acceptance you must pay your tuition deposit of $200. To make your tuition deposit payment over the phone, call (954) 262-7181.

Step 2: Financial Aid

Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and submit it online as soon as possible after if opens on October 1 to be considered for the maximum amount of financial aid.

Contact the Office of Student Financial Assistance for more information about the financial aid process.

Step 3: Sign Up for Orientation

At New Student Orientation, you will have the opportunity to meet your academic adviser and fellow classmates, obtain your SharkCard ID and learn more details about the campus and all of its activities.

Step 4: Background Check

An email will be sent with instructions after the deposit is paid. Background checks must be submitted before orientation.

Step 6: Residency Paperwork

This paperwork is found in your acceptance package and must be submitted to receive the Florida resident tuition rate. Contact (954) 262-1126 or hpdfloridaresidency@nova.edu for more information.

Step 7: Register for Classes

Registration is completed by Nursing Office Coordinators two weeks before classes.

Step 8: Sign Up For or Waive NSU Health Insurance

After registering for classes, you can choose to waive your NSU-provided health insurance. Read more about your options and find the online waiver here.

Step 9: Campus Housing (Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus Students)

Students with 0–48 credits are required to live on campus,* unless one of the following criteria applies:

  • You’re at least 25 years old
  • You’re married
  • You reside with a parent or legal guardian within the tri-county area (Broward, Dade, and Palm Beach)

*On-campus housing is available only at the Fort Lauderdale/Davie Campus.
