Through the Center for Academic and Professional Success (CAPS), you’ll do the following:

  • Figure out the best major for your dream job.
  • Get help choosing the right courses for your degree.
  • Give your résumé and cover letter a professional polish.
  • Practice how to be the best candidate for the job with mock interviews.
  • Access a running database of companies and organizations currently hiring.
  • Use digital career development tools like LinkedIn Learning.
  • Find internships, micro-internships, and shadowing opportunities with 180+ local and national employers that recruit from NSU’s campus.

And guess what? All NSU alumni have lifelong access to career development resources and services. CAPS is always available to you as a professional resource.

Academic and Career Advising

You’ll be paired with an academic and career adviser, otherwise known as your Edge Adviser, who is knowledgeable about your major or degree. Your Edge Adviser will make sure you don’t miss a beat as you transform from student to working professional, graduate student, entrepreneur, or whatever your goal is.

You’ll get individualized attention every step of the way for all four years. Schedule regular meetings with your adviser or request a drop-in meeting on short notice for urgent needs. Your Edge Adviser’s top priority is your success.

The Center for Academic and Professional Success is exactly what it sounds like: a destination where you’ll get the tools and support you need to ace your academic life and your future.

Our Vision

The Center for Academic and Professional Success (CAPS) at Nova Southeastern University empowers and supports the holistic development of students as they pursue their academic and professional goals.

I have gained skills and experience by writing job descriptions, preparing blog posts and visiting the different estates of a business, which will prove to be incredibly valuable wherever my future may take me.

Drop-In Advising

Drop-in advising is available via phone or in-person for students who have quick questions or something very time sensitive that they need to discuss with an adviser. Drop-in meetings are usually limited to 15 minutes in length, and no appointment is needed for a drop-in meeting.
