Performing and Visual Arts on Campus

Here at NSU, you’ll be at the forefront of arts and culture, not just on campus but also in the local community. You’ll gain exposure to real audiences and get hands-on experience participating in events at the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center, showcasing your talents at the Black Box Theatre, or having your voice heard on NSU’s student-run radio station.

Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center

Open to the public, the Rose and Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center is NSU’s on-campus theatre where students both participate as performers and attend as the audience. The Performing Arts Center is also rented out for non-NSU events, connecting with the local community’s arts organizations. The Broward Center for the Performing Arts, managing partner of the theatre, provides additional cultural programming opportunities for Broward County residents, NSU students, and faculty members.

Black Box Theatre

The Don Taft University Center, a central hub for NSU students, also houses the Black Box Theatre where students exhibit art and perform in theatre, music, and dance. Many of the events are open to the public, giving the local community a chance to witness Shark talent.

NSU Art Museum

The NSU Art Museum is a partnership between NSU and the city of Fort Lauderdale, anchoring our arts degrees and programs to the museum.

Since 2008, the NSU Art Museum has showcased extraordinary exhibits and art programs. From exploring fashion designer Anna Sui’s body of work to virtual tours for schoolchildren, the museum ties NSU together with the local community.
