Attending Shark Preview was what really solidified my decision to come to NSU. Meeting my Shark Preview leaders and fellow incoming students helped me make lasting connections with people I still speak with to this day. If it weren’t for Shark Preview, I don’t think I would have found my home here at NSU and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

When Is Shark Preview?

The Fall 2025 Premier Programs supplemental application is open for incoming Fall 2025 applicants. Shark Previews begin Thursday afternoon and conclude Friday evening.

What to Expect at Shark Preview

Dive into the NSU experience.

Shark Preview is an exclusive opportunity to immerse yourself in NSU’s campus life while you interview for programs that prepare you for real careers, real contributions, and real life.

During Shark Preview, you’ll tour campus, attend a session on interview preparation, learn about student organizations from current Shark leaders, connect with professors, and most importantly, form new friendships with your future classmates.

Throughout my weekend everyone I talked to, from my Shark Preview leaders to my interviewers, were so friendly and always so encouraging! I felt like I could talk to absolutely anyone and was never scared to ask questions!

Honors College Information Session

Learn how Farquhar Honors College places an emphasis on research, small class sizes, and unique hands-on learning experiences so that our most motivated and high-achieving students get the attention they deserve. How to Register for Shark Preview

NSU Florida offers Shark Preview as a way for students interested in our Premier Programs to submerge themselves in the NSU experience. But first, you must reserve your seat at the table by applying for admission to NSU and submitting a supplemental Premier Program application.

Apply for Admission

You can use the Shark Select Application or the Common App to apply to NSU Florida.
Transportation
  • All students and families are responsible for flights and transportation to and from campus during Shark Preview.

Please do not schedule any travel accommodations until you receive an official confirmation email confirming your Shark Preview. Check-in will be from 2-4 p.m. on Thursday, so we recommend flights landing before 1 p.m. on the Thursday of your confirmed Shark Preview and flights leaving after 9 p.m. on Friday.

Housing and Meals for In-Person

  • We highly encourage students to attend Shark Preview with their families. Students attending with their families must reside with their family for the entirety of the visit.

  • Meals will be provided to all students in attendance.

  • NSU Florida does not provide housing accommodations for students and families attending Shark Preview. Students should reside with their family for the entirety of the experience.

Submit a Supplemental Application

Many of NSU’s Premier Programs include generous scholarships and other benefits. They also require a supplemental application and an interview during Shark Preview.

Select Your Preferred Date

Once you’re admitted to NSU and have submitted the supplemental Premier Programs application, we’ll invite you via email to choose dates for Shark Preview. Please note, the date you choose is not your official Shark Preview date. Do not schedule any travel accommodations until you receive your confirmation email.

Schedule Travel Accommodations

Once your Shark Preview date is confirmed, you will receive a confirmation email, and you are then good to schedule travel accommodations.

Planning for Shark Preview

Event Check-in and Sample Schedules

Check in for Shark Preview is on Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. EST. You’ll receive confirmations of your interviews and events when you check in. We recommend doing so at least 15 to 30 minutes early, since things get rolling at 4 p.m. EST sharp. Note: Sample schedules will be available soon. 

Attire Recommendations 

Feel free to go casual (i.e., T-shirt, jeans, shorts) on Thursday for the interview preparation and meet and greet with current NSU students and other future Sharks.

On Friday, we recommend wearing business casual or professional attire for your interview(s) and other activities. You'll want to bring a casual outfit to change into for Friday night at Club Nova. Revert back to casual bottoms and your Shark Preview T-shirt for the closing ceremony!
